Labyrinth Retreat June 20th to June 21

     The Rev. Maria “Dancing Heart” Hoaglund and Ruth Jewell will be presenting an overnight Labyrinth Retreat titled The Healing Power of Prayer and the Labyrinth at Edmonds Christian Church June 20^th to June 21^st.  We would like to invite you to step away from the confusion of the world for a weekend and experience a time of silence and healing prayer.

     Maria is a spiritual and grief counselor and will discuss the ways that prayer, meditation and walking the labyrinth may help to bear the grief of sorrow and pain.  Ruth, a certified Labyrinth Facilitator, will lead the retreat in Ancient Prayer Practices, which you may use in your own personal meditations.

     The retreat will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, June 20th, with a community meal, and will conclude at 3:00 pm with a labyrinth worship.  Due to the nature of this workshop we are limiting the number of participants to 30 and therefore are requesting advance registration.  

     The retreat is open to all who are interested in deepening their spiritual prayer practices and would like to experience the labyrinth in a unique way.  The registration fee for the retreat is $40 and includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday.  Please contact Ruth Jewell at 425-775-6220, for more information if you are interested.

CAMPBELL’S COLLECTION UPDATE
 

NBA Woodhaven has received over 1 million soup labels from churches, CWF groups and individuals all across the county!!  Thanks to your hard work dedicated collecting. NBA Woodhaven is on its way to receiving our fourth free van from Campbell’s.  It takes 1.3 million collected soup labels to get a free 15-passenger van.  We hope to reach that goal by the end of the year.  

The new van received from Campbell’s will be converted for wheelchair accessibility.  Your collected UPC barcodes will mean greater freedom and mobility for the men and women we serve.  

In addition to collecting Campbell’s UPC barcodes, NBA Woodhaven is also collecting Best Choice UPC symbols.  Best Choice is a discount grocery brand available in the Midwest.  Save the UPC symbols (bar code) from Best Choice products.  NBA Woodhaven will receive $40 for every 1000 UPC symbols collected.  Best Choice proceeds will be used for the handicapped conversion of our next van acquired through Campbell’s.  It’s another great way to help the individuals of NBA Woodhaven.

There has been an important change to the Campbell's Soup program for the 2006-2007 year.  Campbell's no longer accepts labels; now they want the UPC barcodes.

How to prepare your barcodes for shipment:

1.        Cut out UPC barcode.
2.        Place UPC barcodes in an envelope or paper lunch sack.  When possible, separate the 1-point barcodes 
           and lids from the 5-point barcodes and lids.
3.        Please keep Best Choice UPC's separate from Campbells.
4.        Make sure only qualified labels, lids and bonus certificates are included.
